Product Description

SILEO® (dexmedetomidine oromucosal gel) is the first and only FDA-approved treatment indicated for the treatment of canine noise aversion in dogs 16 weeks and older. SILEO helps to alleviate signs of noise aversion by:
Calming without sedating, so that the dog remains fully functional to interact normally with the family
Reducing the dog's suffering and distress as well as the pet owner's stress, helping to preserve the human-animal bond.

Product Information
Using the syringe, SILEO is easily administered between the cheek and gum, allowing for transmucosal absorption. Because SILEO is formulated to provide a low dose of dexmedetomidine, the dog remains calm, yet fully functional, and is able to interact normally with the family.
Active Ingredients
Dexmedetomidine hydrochloride 0.1mg/ml, in a 3ml syringe
Directions for User
Please follow veterinarian's instructions for use, and please read the Client Information Sheet before administering the medication. SILEO gel is presented in a 3 mL multidose oral syringe that can be used for repeated doses on an as-needed basis. The gel is applied between the cheek and gum for transmucosal absorption. If SILEO is ingested, little dexmedetomidine will be absorbed; therefore, SILEO may be ineffective. If swallowed, allow at least two hours before applying the next dose. Feeding and giving treats within 15 minutes after administration should be avoided. If there is any SILEO remaining in the syringe, the syringe should be returned to the carton to protect it from light. If the remaining portion of the syringe is not used within 2 weeks, it should be discarded according to local and federal regulations.
Special Precautions
Store away from light and out of the reach of children and pets. SILEO has not been evaluated in dogs younger than 16 weeks of age or in dogs with dental or gingival diseases that could have an effect on SILEO’s absorption. SILEO has not been evaluated for aversion behaviors to thunderstorms. The safety and effectiveness of SILEO in breeding, pregnant, and lactating dogs has not been evaluated. SILEO is not meant to be swallowed. Instead, it must be placed onto the mucosa between the dog’s cheek and gum. If SILEO is swallowed, the product may not be effective. If SILEO is swallowed, do not repeat the dose for at least two hours. Gloves should be worn when administering this medication.
